Automate Daily Text Affirmations with n8n and Telegram

What This Automation Does

This workflow sends a daily positive message to your Telegram automatically at 9 AM.
It fetches a new affirmation from an online API and sends it to you without you doing anything.
This saves time and helps you get motivated every day.

The workflow uses these steps: a timer triggers the process, an API call gets the affirmation, and a Telegram message is created and sent.
The result is a fresh, personal positive message on Telegram each morning.

Beginner step-by-step: How to use this workflow in n8n

Step 1: Import the Workflow

1. Download the workflow file using the Download button on this page.
2. Open n8n editor where you want to run the workflow.
3. Click on “Import from File” and select the downloaded workflow.

Step 2: Configure Credentials and Settings

1. Add your Telegram Bot API key under credentials for the Telegram node.
2. Check if you need to update chat IDs, emails, or any other IDs in the Telegram node.

Step 3: Test the Workflow

1. Run the workflow once manually to check that the affirmation message sends correctly.

Step 4: Activate for Daily Use

1. Toggle the workflow to active so the scheduled Cron node will run it automatically every day at 9 AM.
2. Monitor the execution logs in n8n dashboard for any errors.

5. Inputs, Processing, and Outputs

Inputs:

• The trigger time from the Cron node set to 9 AM daily.
• The affirmation text obtained from the https://affirmations.dev API via HTTP Request node.

Processing Steps:

• The Cron node starts the workflow every day at the set time.
• The HTTP Request node calls the API and gets a new affirmation in JSON format.
• The Telegram node takes the text from HTTP Request and sends it as a message to your Telegram chat.

Output:

• A personal motivational message sent to your Telegram account at 9 AM each day.

Customizations ✏️

• Change delivery time by adjusting the Cron node’s hour setting.
• Edit the Telegram message text to include different names, emojis, or extra text.
• Use different affirmation APIs by changing the URL in the HTTP Request node.
• Send messages to more people by duplicating the Telegram node and updating chat IDs.
• Log affirmations by adding a Code node after HTTP Request to save data elsewhere.

Troubleshooting ????

Problem: Telegram node says “Unauthorized”.
Cause: Wrong Telegram API key or bot not started by user.
Fix: Check the API key from BotFather and start a chat with the Telegram bot.

Problem: HTTP Request does not fetch affirmation.
Cause: Wrong API URL or no internet access.
Fix: Confirm the URL is https://affirmations.dev and your n8n instance has internet.

Pre-Production Checklist ✅

• Make sure the Cron node time and timezone are correct for your zone.
• Run HTTP Request node alone to verify the API returns a valid affirmation.
• Send a test message with the Telegram node manually to ensure it reaches your chat.
